All About You – Emily’s First Update

I am sure you are as excited as us to read about what Emily has been up to!

We have been waiting patiently for Emily to actually get some downtime to update us, it is exam time after all. For those who have yet to read about Emily, head over to here before reading on  .

So without further ado, lets hand you over to Emily for an update in her own words.

Our First Update

Hi, it’s Emily

After my last piece lots of good and exciting things have happened.

We started off the month competing at a brand new venue, Sparsholt, coming away with 1 clear round and one with 4 faults.

In our next lesson we jumped a 90/1m course, this was at Crofton. The following day we came 1st in the show jumping, a quick clear round in the 85cm to qualify for the Hickstead sunshine tour again.

Our cross country clinic was next and we challenged ourselves further by taking on many bigger fences, some of the biggest fences we’ve jumped and Storm was amazing!

The final clinic in March was a show jumping lesson and more challenges as we jumped 1m15, which is the biggest jump we’ve ever jumped!

My Goals

My goals for April include:

  • Competing at 90cm
  • Jumping some bigger fences in our next cross country lesson
  • Jumping some more clear rounds at 80/85
  • Do a bit more flatwork ready to do some dressage in the next few months

April and a bit of May

We’re doing 3 show jumping competitions throughout April. Our first 90cm will come in the second weekend of April. As mentioned in my goals we’re just hoping for some clear rounds in these classes. Learning is the aim so I won’t be upset if i don’t place as it’s all forward steps to improve

Our first fun ride is planned for the start of May and then on the second week of May i start my exams so we’re doing lots more in April. Due to the GCSE’s I most likely won’t be able to go out much or get loads done in May or June. Revision will take over so we’re doing lots to get her fit for the fun ride and then giving her most of next month off work!

Thank you for reading, i hope you enjoyed my update

Good Luck

A huge Thank you to Emily for giving us this latest update. It was great to read that both her and Storm consistently challenged themselves to improve this month. A first place, but more importantly for long term gain, the experience of taking on bigger jumps and different venues. Well done all.

I am sure you will join us in wishing Emily good luck in her upcoming exams and in her April endeavours.
